For all our readers out there on Sony devices, you’ve probably already heard the news that Sony is closing its Reader Store service in the U.S. and Canada and transferring customers to Toronto-based eReading company Kobo.

This is not going to be a problem for our readers, though, since all our titles are available on Kobo, as well. We’ve had good luck with Kobo’s systems and service, and we’re happy that Sony has decided to transfer customers libraries to that service instead of just leaving them out in the cold.

More from Sony:

As a result of this change, we will be terminating purchase functionality from the Reader Store service in the U.S. and Canada on March 20, 2014, and phasing out our service. After the store closes, customers will continue to be able to open, manage, and read their locally stored Reader Store eBook content on their existing Reader devices and applications. Until about May 15, 2014, we will allow customers to re-download all their purchased eBooks from Reader Store.

Sony is no longer accepting any additional titles from us at this time, so if you buy your ebooks exclusively through the Reader Store, you’ll need to wait until they switch over to Kobo to get any new titles we publish from now on.

Or, you can buy ePub-formatted ebooks, which will work just fine on your Reader, directly through our store. They require a little effort, but you also support Grey Gecko Press and our authors even more when you buy direct!
