Grey Gecko Press congratulates author Steven P. Locklin on winning the Bronze Medal for General Fiction in the 2013 Florida Book Awards with his book Beneath Hallowed Ground!
The Florida Book Awards, coordinated by the Florida State University Libraries– and co-sponsored by the Florida Center for the Book, the State Library and Archives of Florida, the Florida Historical Society, the Florida Humanities Council, the Florida Literary Arts Coalition, the Florida Library Association, “Just Read, Florida!,” the Governor’s Family Literacy Initiative, the Florida Association for Media in Education, the Florida Center for the Literary Arts, Friends of the Florida State University Libraries, the Florida Writers Association, and the Florida Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America — is an annual awards program that recognizes, honors, and celebrates the best Florida literature and books about Florida published in the previous year.
More than 200 books were entered in the contest this year, and only 27 were chosen for medals, so the competition was very high. Beneath Hallowed Ground pulled out ahead of the pack though, with its unique two-novels-in-one style full of history, action, mystery, and even a dash of romance! If you haven’t picked up a copy of this stellar debut work yet, now’s a great time – it’s on sale for 15% off in our online store right now, while supplies last.
